Planning a home renovation? Find out exactly how many tiles or how much paint you need, with waste built in so you don't run short.
Renovation is expensive enough — don't buy materials twice because you underestimated. Our estimator handles the math so you can focus on the fun part.
The calculator assumes standard 60x60cm tiles (approx. 2x2 feet). Formula: room area / tile area = number of tiles. Add waste for cuts and breakage.
| Room Size | Area | Tiles (net) | Tiles (with 5% waste) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4m x 3m bedroom | 12 m² | 34 | 36 |
| 5m x 4m living room | 20 m² | 56 | 59 |
| 6m x 5m open plan | 30 m² | 84 | 89 |
| 10ft x 12ft bedroom | 120 ft² | 30 | 32 |
Standard rule: 1 liter covers approx. 10 m² (or 100 ft²) per coat. Most rooms need 2 coats.
Pro tip: Always buy more than you think you need. Leftover paint is great for touch-ups. Extra tiles can be stored for future repairs.
Tiles need cuts for edges and corners. Some may break during installation. 5% is standard; 10-15% for diagonal patterns.
Divide your room area by your tile's area (same unit) to get the approximate count.
